Sorors, Family, Friends and Neighbors…
IAC’s Health Awareness and International Awareness & Involvement Committees are collaborating to bring you great news about an exciting upcoming event. Mark your calendars because on Saturday, December 1st we will be celebrating and observing World AIDS Day with our first ever, Dancing With The Deltas fitness fundraising event!
This event will offer three brief consecutive dance exercise sessions focused on different dance genres (African, Bollywood, and Line Dancing) from around the world, all for one single price!!!
Proceeds from this event will be donated to Brothers United, Inc., a local HIV/AIDS support organization geared to provide resources, advocacy, and information to the African American Community.
Not directly affected or impacted by HIV/AIDS? Well our community is, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Blacks/African Americans account for a higher proportion of new HIV diagnoses, those living with HIV, and those who have ever received an AIDS diagnosis, compared to other races/ethnicities. In fact, although Blacks/African Americans only make up 12% of the US population we account for 44% of HIV diagnoses. Enough said?
Be a part of the solution and fulfill the call of service by joining us for this fun fitness event as we bring awareness and raise funds for a disease that is disproportionately affecting our communities. The event is only $10 and is open to the public. Simply click the Add to Cart button below for tickets. Please share the flyer and information with your networks, on your social media, and invite your family and friends to this event!
